Hear Me HOWL

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far. I know I am!

I wanted to let you know host Nik Beat of the CIUT radio show HOWL who recently  played a cut from my EP Read It On The Radio  has invited me to come be ON the show LIVE this Tuesday July 22nd. We’ll be talking about what has been happening with me musically, and what is next.  I hope you will listen in and feel free to message me with comments. I’d love to hear from you.

Melanie Peterson in Niagara Falls

Happy Canada Day!

I have the honor of having been invited to play in Niagara Falls this month. Peter Collins (bass), Mitch Girio (guitar) and I plan to put together a hugely entertaining show. I love the adventure of playing outside of Toronto with these talented musicians at my side. If you are near Niagara Falls and have a chance to come hear us at the Dunn Street Grill (6095 Dunn Street) on Saturday July 26th, 9pm you wont be disappointed. It’ll be a fascinating trip through past, present and future material at this comfortable family restaurant with a bit of a pub feel.

New Track: Lost Cause

I’m so excited about this week’s song release: LOST CAUSE. I was never a huge BECK fan, but when producer Mitch Girio introduced me to this song, I just had to sing it. I felt it was incredibly relatable. Hunky Peter Collins is busy on this song with piano, organ, bass and backing vocals. Pete Lambert is playing the suitcase (yup). A lot of HEART

It’s all about HEART these days, and I’m loving it!

I’ve released song number four of my 6 song cover EP this week. It’s called HEART and it is unique in the sense that the song writer (Nick Lowe) is having a heart to heart with his heart. Have a listen to my rendition here and hear what I mean. As usual this tune was produced by the talented Mitch Girio.

I’m also excited to have been invited to perform a few songs with the hunky Peter Collins at my dear friend Ritchie Sinclair’s art opening. I met him around the same time I met Peter and he has been a great friend and supporter of our music ever since. It is a real honor to be invited to support him in return.
