Songwriter’s Circle at the Free Times and CP24 live interview and performance
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I returned yesterday from another 10 day silent retreat and I must say, I feel extremely refreshed. I lived like a monk for 10 days, living off the charity of others, meditating for 10 hours a day. I enjoyed every moment of it, even my tiny quarters!
The retreat center I went to is called the Ontario Vipassana Center and it is located in Minden, On. Just far enough away from the city to be ripe with fresh air and quiet! The meditation technique taught on the course is called Vipassana and has been handed down in pristine purity through the centuries. If you want to learn more about these 10 day silent retreats, please reach out to me. There are retreat centers all over the world!
There is nothing like ten days of silence and meditation to make you want to express your creativity! So I am happy to announce that this Friday night I will be part of a line up of talented Toronto artists and we will be singing our songs in order to help support the Yonge Street Mission Evergreen Youth Centre for Street-Involved Youth. This program has improved both individual lives and communities. Out of approximately 10,000 street-involved youth in this city, YSM Evergreen served 6500 youth in 2014-2015.
Bring new socks, new or (gently used) mitts, gloves, hats, to help YSM provide these items to street-involved youth, during the winter months.
Friday January 27th
Doors open 8:30 pm
Show starts at 9 pm
Free Times Café – 320 College Street, just west of Spadina at Major St.

Plus one or two special guests TBA.
Please RSVP HERE if you think you can make it, and do let me know if you need more deets! It’s going to be a great night of live music for a great cause! And I plan to sing one or two brand new tunes for you, songs that may very well end up on my next album.
We hope to see you there. Please share this with others, bring your friends, the more the merrier.
And for those of you who missed my live performance and interview on CP24 in December, you can check it out HERE.
That’s hunky Peter Collins on the left and Mitch Girio in the hat. What fun we had!
And for those who are not Toronto based and can’t make it to the show on Friday night, I will be sharing new music, a side project I’ve recently completed with producer Mitch Girio (seen above) very soon!
Hugs and mushy stuff,
