BRAND NEW SONG!!

Dear friends,

I recently had the distinct pleasure of writing and recording a song for the podcast “Streams and Variations” an anthology series of original songs and monologues, blending different genres and styles to create a new experience for fans of short fiction and storytelling through music. For each episode, a new monologue is given to a songwriter. That songwriter then writes a song inspired by the monologue. That song is then given to a different writer, who writes a new monologue. Which is given to a songwriter. And so on. Like a game of broken telephone, each artist has only seen the work that immediately precedes and inspires their own. And each artist only has one week (gasp!) to create their work before passing it on. I’m very pleased to report that Episode Nine of Streams & Variations includes my new song “On The Corner Of Your Street” and is now available for download through the major platforms. You can listen online HERE

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

Hugs and mushy stuff,

Melanie

Thank you!

It’s been over a week since our May live-stream concert and I just wanted to say thank you so much for your continued support and for tuning in to the show. Above is a behind the scenes clip of Peter and I playing Log Cabin during the show as Nick Lim, our camera man, was moving around catching different angles with his iPhone. It was a pretty epic show, especially as I played all three of my guitars, played the bass live for the first time with Peter Collins on the geetar live for the first time! Not to mention we debuted a BRAND NEW TUNE (Pedestal), and Lucky Pete played the violin on We Got This for the first time EVER. Pretty epic for a living room concert.

Here is the LINK TO WATCH, in case you missed the show.

In other news – I have six new tunes on the way!

My Patrons will be among the first to hear the new music, getting access early, as membership has its privileges. I love being able to give my Patrons exclusive access to unreleased songs and photos! If you are not already a Patron you can check out how to become one HERE.

The official release wont be until the fall. These next six tunes are Chapter Two of “We Got This”, or as Peter likes to say: We Still Got This. I can’t wait to share them with you!

Meantime, we have shows in the works for July! Pencil in July 23rd for a potential live show that will also be live streamed! ALSO I will be doing my first YouTube performance in July so if you’d like to be notified about that, please subscribe to my YouTube channel HERE.

Take good care out there, stay safe and see you soon!

Hugs and mushy stuff,

Melanie xo

Hugs and mushy stuff,

New music video!

I hope you are well and enjoying the days that are gradually getting longer. It’s the little things. And having the time to enjoy them! I’ve really embraced the “do less, accomplish more” attitude, which was at first a challenge for the hard working Virgo that I am!

Still, that wont stop me from alerting you to a new music video and live-stream concert coming your way this week! After a year in the making “Damaged Goods”, the video for the third track from my “We Got This” EP, directed by Mihaly Szabados is locked and loaded for release! I’m excited to share the video privately with you here, before the official release on Friday. I hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it! https://youtu.be/zyXb_CAv-Bg

I’m also excited about my upcoming live-stream concert to celebrate the release of the new video and to sing you a few songs and connect with you guys! It’s been so long!  I’ll sing you some songs from the new EP, including Damaged Goods and many of your favs from past releases accompanied by hunky Peter Collins on bass! Here is the link to click at 8pm EST THIS Friday night to tune into the show. https://www.facebook.com/misswatermeloni

And in other news, I’m one of a select few performers invited to play at Winterfolk 2021, a Toronto music festival taking place virtually Feb 20-21st this year. My pre-recorded set is at 7pm EST Sat Feb 20th, so save the date! And stay tuned for more deets!.

The days are getting longer and there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we are going to come out of said tunnel stronger and clearer about who we are and what we love. And that is GOOD NEWS! Meantime, take care of yourselves and others and I’ll see you Friday night!

Hugs and mushy stuff,

Melanie
