New Music Video watch TODAY!

Happy hump day!

Sometimes you leave, sometimes you get left and sometimes there’s only one way to deal with it. TEQUILA!

The music video for “One Tequila” from my new EP ‘We Got This – Side Two’ is out now and you can watch it HERE

It is my drinking to stop thinking song, a song to put on when going through a break up OR you just want to hear something fun. I hope it makes you smile and you watch right to the very end, past the credits, for my favourite part!

Thank you for listening, watching, commenting, subscribing and ESPECIALLY sharing. You don’t know how much it means to me to know you love something I’ve made enough to pass it on! It’s been a year since I’ve released a music video I was actually performing in, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch. Also, I’d love to hear what you think of my co-star. Leave a comment if you think she has potential!

Big thanks to Castro’s Lounge for letting director Sean Ryan and I in early one Tuesday in September to shoot to our hearts content.

Hope to see you at a show real soon.

Hugs and mushy stuff,

Melanie

Your September Update From Melanie Peterson

L to R: Frank Koren, Lucky Pete Lambert, moi, James McKie, Hunky Peter Collins

It was nice to see so many friendly faces at my EP release party at Dakota Tavern earlier this month. I was joined by Frank Koren on lead guitar, Lucky Pete Lambert on drums, James McKie on fiddle and Hunky Peter Collins on bass. It was a thrill to play through my new EP ‘We Got this – Side Two’ accompanied by these talented musicians.

We also had The Beresfords as our opening act. I can’t thank this brother and sister duo from Aurora enough for playing such a sweet opening set. I look forward to sharing the bill with them again in the future.

My new EP is available now on all digital platforms, so have a listen if you have not had a chance to check out the new songs yet. I appreciate your support and love hearing your feedback, so bring it on!

Mark your calendars because we are returning to Sauce on the Danforth on Sunday, October 9th 4-7pm. More details to come soon, I hope to see you there.

Music My Mother Would Not Like

Dear friends,

I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the delicious summer so far!

I’m reaching out because, thanks to Veronica Kutt, my fabulous booking agent, I will be appearing on Music My Mother Would Not Like, a weekly singer-songwriter live stream showcase series that takes place on Zoom. The series features three internationally or nationally touring artists each week. It’s not an “in the round” format, each artist gets a 25 minute set. The show I will be part of will take place August 2nd and Zoom doors will open at 7:30pmEST. The show starts at 8pmEST.

For my set I will be joined by hunky Peter Collins on bass and with any luck Audrey, our fur baby (lol) will jump on the couch and sleep through the set looking cute for ya’all. She always konks out as soon as we start playing.

We will be playing songs from “We Got This” and “We Got This – Side Two” as well as one BRAND NEW SONG (as in, never played it live, hot off the presses, that sort of thing) that I’m super excited to share with you all! And it’s NOT a love song, imagine that!

You have to register in advance for this show. There are no tickets to pay for, though tipping is encouraged 🙂 You can register HERE as soon as today, and I hope you do, because I would love to see you there! What could be better than to enjoy excellent live music on a Tuesday evening, from home, and in your PJ’s if you feel so inclined! Leave the getting dressed up to me!

And do feel free to forward this email to people who might be interested in tuning in. I would, as always, be grateful to you for helping spread the word. And if you have any questions about the show, feel free to respond to this message or email me at melanieacts@hotmail.com

Hugs and mushy stuff!

Upcoming Toronto Single Release Party! – DAKOTA TAVERN

Hey everyone!

I hope you are all doing great end enjoying the springing of spring! Today I packed up my long john’s and put them in a box in the basement until next winter, with a smile.

I’ll be releasing the first single “Somebody’s Somebody” from ‘We Got This – Side Two’ this May and celebrating with a single release party on May 5th 7pm-9pm at the Dakota Tavern! It will be a special show because I will have a full band, including a keyboard player, joining me on stage and we will be playing through the 6 songs from ‘We Got This’ and the 6 songs from ‘We Got This – Side Two’ in order, so you can get a feel for the flow of the songs on both EPs. Not to mention it will be my first time playing with a full band since 2020! This is a night not to be missed!

I have put together a poster with all the info on it for you. Please feel free to share!

Ticket link: HERE

RSVP to the FB event and help me show the world that the Dakota Tavern is the place to be May 5th: HERE

Melanie Peterson’s March Newsletter!

Dear Friends!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! I hope you have had an awesome March so far! Can you believe Spring is almost sprung? Yay!

Thought I’d share some exciting news for 2022 & new(ish) merch, ICYMI!!

First off: don’t miss my FREE solo live stream performance Tuesday APRIL 26th at 7pm EST from my FACEBOOK MUSIC PAGE where I will play the songs from my soon to be released EP “We Got This – Side Two”, share the stories behind the songs and more! There is good chance my fur baby Audrey will pop in to say hello! So excited to see you there, virtually speaking! And so grateful to the Music Performance Trust Fund and VK Artists Promotions for sponsoring this show! It’s gonna be a good one!!

AND if you are itching to see the full band and I LIVE, save this date: Thursday May 5th when we will be live at The Dakota Tavern to celebrate the release of “We Got This” (finally!!) by playing all the songs from that EP and also the songs from “We Got This – Side Two”. It will be a great night of live music and also an opportunity for you to unwind and be social with friends you haven’t seen in person for some time, including me! Can’t wait.

I feel like the pandemic and it’s variants have consistently messed up my best laid plans, and still are, to some extent, as we will not have Mitch Girio joining us on guitar at the show May 5th, but we do have the superstar guitar player Frank Koren filling in, and I know you won’t be disappointed by his performance of the songs! I have so many exciting things to look forward to but most of all I’m looking forward to sharing my new music with you!

Hugs and mushy stuff!

Hope to see you at the show, virtually speaking!

Hugs and mushy stuff,
